RE: FINA Swimsuit Ruling – Applicable from 1st January 2010
Following the FINA Congress held in Rome on 24th July 2009 and the endorsement by the
FINA Bureau at their meeting on 28th July 2009 the following is applicable to all members.
As from the 1st of January 2010 all FINA Member Federations must comply with the new FINA swim suit regulations and will only be allowed to wear swimsuits for competition purposes that are fully approved by FINA. No new records (Provincial, National, Continental or World) will be recognised unless FINA approved suit is worn.
Please find attached a list of FINA approved suits posted on the FINA website on 4th January 2010 together with a copy of the FINA Congress and FINA Bureau decision on swimsuits.
Members are advised to consult the list of approved swimsuits on the FINA website from time to time as this list will be updated as and when manufacturers apply for new models to be approved.
